A Quantity of Quarts

It's "Q Week" at ABC Wednesday, and a QUANTITY of canned QUARTS
of jams and jellies and preserves might just make you hungry!
These colorful jars of goodness were for sale at the Kenan's Mill Festival
 by Mrs. Rushton's Cottage Kitchen.

This fantastic photo brought many fond memories back: Of World War II days when we ate what was canned and stored under the bed. Jams and jellies were my all time favorites. I remember how I loved to smell the vanilla extract in the old cupboard and it smelled so good and tasted great on snow ice cream (a pretend in those days of fresh snow) that I tasted it out of the bottle and almost puked. I still love vanilla not just the extract. Am looking for more jams and jars but none around here.

Abe, have you ever tasted the natural vanilla from Mexico? Someone brought us a bottle from there, and it really makes a delicious difference!

When I was a young wife and mother, I made jams, but now the kids are gone and we have to watch our sugar, so no more. But oh my, it all looks so yummy!
