Notice that the porch ceilings are painted blue? I just learned that they did that to confuse the birds and make them think that it is the sky so that they wouldn't build nests there. As least, that's what my dad said. And now that I have written it down, it is not sounding as plausible. Hmmm.
Rachel, I have noticed several historic homes with the porch ceilings painted blue. That's an interesting observation, and I think I will ask some homeowners around here!
