The vintage Rexall sign at Pilcher-McBryde Drugs downtown is one
of at least three just alike in Alabama. The others are at Rockford and Eastaboga.
These orange and navy neon signs were manufactured in the 1940s and 50s.

ReplyDeleteThere was one just like that where we grew up (in Lewiston Idaho ) .... Gone long ago, before we left the area. I bet those vintage signs are worth some money now!

ReplyDeleteI just re-read To Kill a Mockingbird and am now reading Go Set a Watchman. I don't know if you've read the it, but it's terrible (the "new" book, I mean). Luckily, I know that Alabama isn't really like that.
Halcyon, I've read both and agree with you!
ReplyDeleteQuite a throwback!
