It won't be long before hundreds of students experience life in the 1860s
during the Battle of Selma School Tours.
Here, a wooden fence separates Confederate Headquarters from the battlefield,
and there is plenty of firewood for cooking. The headquarters is among
several stops where children will learn about medicine, communication,
clothing, weapons, period music and more.

Very good education and the camping experience will be something they will remember.
A very instructive place for students to go to.
I remember school outings, and just outings with my parents, to old forts that have been either rebuilt or kept in good order.
I guess they will have re-enactors to tell the stories?!?

Yes, re-enactors tell the history and demonstrate how things were made. In fact, last year there were some people doing demonstrations from the National Civil War Naval Museum at the Port of Columbus.
