February is Black History Month, and Selma participates
by offering school field trips to local Civil Rights sites
that include Brown Chapel AME Church.
During the 1960s and beyond, ministers and churches
played pivotal roles for social and political change.

That is an impressive church, and very fitting to feature it this month.
I so enjoyed seeing your photo. My husband and I visited Selma last fall, and of course know the church. Would love to have taken the walking tour as I remember the Civil Rights movement, but it was very quiet when we were there.
Terrific post for Black History Month...
This is a nicely framed shot. Banners are perfect for advertising ever changing events - and no dates, so they can be re-used!
