I have a Bird in spring
Which for myself doth sing --
The spring decoys.
And as the summer nears --
And as the Rose appears,
Robin is gone.
Yet do I not repine
Knowing that Bird of mine
Though flown --
Learneth beyond the sea
Melody new for me
And will return.
Which for myself doth sing --
The spring decoys.
And as the summer nears --
And as the Rose appears,
Robin is gone.
Yet do I not repine
Knowing that Bird of mine
Though flown --
Learneth beyond the sea
Melody new for me
And will return.

What an expression on that bird's face. LOL!
ReplyDeleteWe have had a few resident robins that stayed around all winter. I don't know where they found food as they are not really seed eaters. They like ground worms or what we call fish worms when they can find them. I also discovered they would eat suet that fell after other birds pecked at hanging suet cakes. I saw three males here yesterday when it was raining.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the bird wanted to make sure you got his good side.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Emily Dickinson's poetry!
