Eastern Tiger Swallowtail

Selma is the Butterfly Capital of Alabama, and the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail
 is its mascot.This one just lit on the prolific lantana that seems
 to grow about as fast as kudzu!

    if i recall correctly this is virginia's state butterfly. so gorgeous. see them flying around all the time. gorgeous in flight too. great view. (:

    amazing capture....great clarity.....and I know it's not easy to shoot a butterfly - they flutter-fly too much!
