Old Live Oak Cemetery is lending this ornate fence
and gate to celebrate this blog's fifth anniversary today!
In this photo are five of my favorite photo subjects:
old wrought iron, lovingly inscribed tombstones, dogwood,
Spanish Moss and over in the background, azalea.
Thank you to everyone who has visited Selma
through my blog and especially for your kind comments!

How wonderful to get five of your favourite things in one photograph. That gate is indeed ornate. and it looks like it surrounds a family plot?

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday day to you ...
ReplyDeleteNice shot.
This is probably the most ornate cemetery fence I've seen. I love it. Because of your wonderful pictures I have put Selma on my list of Alabama cities to visit if and when I get to make a long-dreamed of trip to visit all 50 states in a one-year period. I hope I live long enough to do it! Or at least live long enough to start it!
ReplyDeleteHope you do too, Kathy!
ReplyDeleteNow that's really cool! Certainly different from the usual kind of fence. Nice shot!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Five years is a long time:)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! I wish you many, many more celebrations.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo.
Regards and best wishes
We should thank Live Oak Cemetery for this wonderful image as well. In Louisville we have Cave Hill C. and I've been needing to get over there with camera--it's like your cemetery with flowering trees and shrubs, ornate ironwork, interesting grave markers and sculpture and water. Many possibilities.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on 5 years of blogging. Hope you find it very satisfying.
