Blue and Gray

When the sun shines, January turns blue and gray on the Alabama River. I took this photo on the coldest morning in several years when the temperature dipped to the low teens.

In the foreground, Spanish Moss billows like a cape. In the background, you can see the railroad bridge.

  1. Despite the cold weather, the Spanish Moss makes me think of summer when it's green and lush!

  2. I've really been enjoying your images of Selma clutched in a fist of cold. This one is particularly poignant. A beautiful post. Thank you for your visits and comments. You should be warming up pretty soon down there. Wish I could say the same about Vermont.

  3. It is a lovely scene! I have a love-hate relationship with Spanish moss. I love looking at it, but hate when it touches me!

  5. Thank you, Brattcat. It is warming up a bit today, already 40 degrees! Looks like the rest of the ice will be melting.
