Brown Chapel Campaign
Despite tough economic times, fundraising must go on!
This campaign is for preservation of Brown Chapel AME Church, a national historic landmark because of its role in the Civil Rights Movement. Marchers met here in mass meetings during the 1960s, and the church served as the starting point for a number of marches, including the Selma-to-Montgomery March.
I hope they reach their goal!
ReplyDeleteI hope the Church does well in its quest.
ReplyDeleteI hope they make it. I would hate to see something of such importance be erased from the landscape!
ReplyDeleteThat is an interesting looking chapel. With the role it has played in history, I hope they raise the funds to preserve this landmark.
ReplyDeletePut me on the list. I'll have to wait and see how much I can donate AO. That's "After Obama". Pappy
ReplyDeleteThis church is about 100 years old and quite beautiful inside. It has an active congregation but is also an historic landmark, so it's especially important to keep it in good condition.
