Take Your Pick

These won't be around much longer, so take your pick now.

Several inches of rain from a tropical storm a few weeks ago brought out the best in our gardens, and here's the bounty...nicely arranged for customers at the Selma Flea Market.

  5. Yummy. Love those tomatoes! We have a ginormous plant but not one tiny little tomatoe on it. Apprently it doesn't get cool enough around here to encourge those little red buggers to pop out!

  6. It all looks good! I wonder if that's an apple from North Georgia.

  7. I will take some of the okra, please! Sounds delicious. I have a few green tomatoes left; I can cut them up together, add meal and a little flour, fry it and have a meal fit for a king. But okra alone would do fine.

  8. In the category of too much information:

Okra - I have a like don't like relationship with them. I've decided I love them (even a little overcooked) in Thai red curry. Other things, not that much.

How about you? BTW, how did you pickle pears?

  9. Hi Z, I like my okra coated with cornmeal and fried or stir-fried with tomatoes, onions and peppers.

I will send you the pickled pear recipe.
