The Two Cats

This pair of cats, a feline and a catfish, were painted by Mike Handley and displayed at the Selma Art Guild Gallery during the Art Walk. As you can see, catfish are called catfish because they have whiskers. In The Black Belt region of Alabama, there are catfish in the rivers and catfish raised in farm ponds...the kind you buy at the grocery store.

There are some whoppers around here in the rivers and creeks. I used to fish for them and we ate them. They are among the best of fish to eat.

This is a beautiful picture of the cat and the fish.

Great painting.

The chef Gordon Ramsey does a TV program shown here in the UK where he looks at wild food around the world. In a recent episode he was in Alabama, in a river, catching catfish by hand. Literally with his hands! It was really interesting and the fish were huge!
