This garden spider clinches a grasshopper that she caught in her web outside my kitchen window. I recently posted another garden spider that built a web outside the front door. I think this one chose the window, because insects are attracted to the light in our kitchen at night. Her web covers the entire exterior of the window. We just tell everybody that this is our "virtual" Halloween decoration! Anyway, we have enjoyed watching her patch and expand her web, although devouring other bugs is not especially appealing. (I took this photo through the kitchen window.)

Another fantastic shot of a spider. I do hope you were able to see the spider spin the grasshopper into it's holding web. I've seen this happen a couple times and it's an incredible site to see.
Wonderful photo, although I don't care too much for spiders, they do do their jobs. I love how you captured this shot and it's great to see the spider web.
I'm afraid I didn't get to see the spider spin the grasshopper into it's holding web, but I have watched it go after much smaller insects. After catching the grasshopper, she caught a fairly large moth. Thanks for visiting.
