Pear Picking Time

Pears are dangling like sugarplums from these branches. They are just about ready to be plucked, peeled and put into canning jars for pear preserves or pear pickle. Maybe you'd just prefer a pear pie!

To keep them off the ground

  3. Hi Lynette, what a cute rhyme! I have canned pears but not this time!

Z, we had a pear tree in the yard where I grew up, and that is often what we did...eat them straight off the tree! We lived downtown, so people walking along the sidewalk often picked up the fallen pears and ate them. We had to be quick to pick those pears!

  9. Pears; can there be any better fruit? No. These would be great poached in a wine sauce, or even honey lemon sauce. mmm, fresh pears!

  10. I prefer pears just under water.

And to bite inside with the juice which runs on the fingers
