Z, we had a pear tree in the yard where I grew up, and that is often what we did...eat them straight off the tree! We lived downtown, so people walking along the sidewalk often picked up the fallen pears and ate them. We had to be quick to pick those pears!

I'd eat them as is. In fact, I have been eating local pears of late. They're soooooo good!

Pears that just fall to the ground are so ripe and so good. My-o-my my mouth is watering.

Wonderful photo. Our local newspaper recently published many succulent pear recipes.
ReplyDeleteI love pears. . . .They're great in salads made with crisp greens, grilled shrimp (or chicken), tomatoes, and pear vinaigrette.
ReplyDeletePears; can there be any better fruit? No. These would be great poached in a wine sauce, or even honey lemon sauce. mmm, fresh pears!
