Today is Theme Day, and for July 1 we post
"Something Red."
The Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail begins at the base of the Edmund Pettus Bridge along U.S. Highway 80 West. The 50-mile trail leads past several civil rights historic sites and the Voting Rights Interpretive Center sponsored by the National Park Service in Lowndes County. Soon, an interpretive center will open in Selma near the bridge as well as one in Montgomery.

That is a very neat sign! Looks like the color red is very popular in Selma, yes? Great choice for today's theme.
ReplyDeleteWonderful choice and so appropriate for your area! Have a great Sunday!

—Me as Moses—
Very appriopriate red post for Selma!
ReplyDeleteBelated congrats on your 100th post!
No doubt, this one is RED!
ReplyDeleteBelle enseigne pour le theme du mois
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sign for the topic of the month
Thank you for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteAbraham, that's a good observation. The true color of the sign is a rusty red in the midday sun. I brightened it a bit and added some saturation.
Bet that shows up well in the dark.
ReplyDeleteThat sign is certainly would get your attention!
ReplyDeleteI don't think people will miss this sign with that red color like this.
ReplyDeleteBravo, to Selma, for honoring the civil rights historic sites and the Voting Rights Interpretive Centers.
ReplyDeleteThat sign would be hard to miss. Nice choice!
ReplyDeletethis is definitely one red sign I would not miss if it was 100 miles away =) - what a great red it is.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for your comments and visiting my blog. Please note that the directions for theme day said to be creative. While the sign is rusty red, it is NOT actually this red. I should have noted that. For really, really, red I could have posted the Little Red Caboose at the Old Depot Museum, the Farmer's Co-op building, Selma's first fire engines or any other numerous things. I will get to them eventually! Glad you stopped by!
